The Human
Resources (HR) Policies and Procedures outlined here provide a support tool to
Administrative Heads to assist in the management of staff.
Wherever possible,
the procedures are written as guidelines to allow for discretion in
decision-making. Perhaps most importantly of all, each HR policy includes a
table showing who is responsible for each decision or activity that relates to
that policy.
The Director Human
Resources approves all policies. In some cases specific policies or sections of
policies have been authorised by the Vice Chancellor, or Academic Council.
These authorities are noted in the relevant passages of the policies and
procedures.
Administrative
Heads should encourage their staff to become familiar with these policies and
procedures. It is an open document, freely accessible to all.
